The Techscheme
The Techscheme has now expanded to include ‘IKEA’ as a retailer in addition to Currys, therefore you can now apply for a voucher to use on everything from TV’s and Laptops to home products including furniture, kitchenware, lighting, bathroom, outdoor living. The list is endless……………
The Techscheme is like a year-round sale. It beats interest free deals hands down and ensures you can save money on the latest tech whilst also spreading the cost. There is no credit check and postage is free! Techscheme is powered by Currys and IKEA. Savings are up to 12% depending on your tax rate.
How does it work?
Techscheme helps you spread the cost (interest free) on 1,000s of tech items, appliances and homeware. It’s a salary sacrifice benefit which means you exchange part of your salary across 12 months and make a National Insurance saving of upto 12%. Best of all, you own the products from the beginning and retain ownership once the funding plan has ceased and there’s no end of hire fee. Use the savings calculator https://www.techscheme.co.uk/how-it-works to find out how much you could save by entering the combined total value of your products and your annual salary.
What is salary sacrifice and how is it applied?
Salary sacrifice occurs when you agree to give up part of your salary for an agreed period of time in exchange for a non-cash benefit, such as the supply of technology. As salary sacrifice is taken from gross salary (before tax) rather than net pay, you will not initially pay any tax or National Insurance on the salary sacrifice amount. However, the provision of the equipment is a taxable Benefit In Kind (BIK) that needs to be reported to HMRC on a P11D benefits form at the end of the tax year. A P11D form is used by Skiddle to report on the Techscheme. Therefore, HMRC will recover the tax due, in arrears, via a change in your tax code the following tax year (April 6 th – April 5 th ).
What do I need to do to join the TechScheme?
Select the total value of the products you want to get from Currys or IKEA Submit an order through Techscheme by visiting https://www.techscheme.co.uk/eb69e5 this link is unique to Skiddle Ltd. The process takes no more than 5 minutes (you will need your payroll number) HR will review your application and pay for your Techscheme package, you will then receive a Redemption code to use in store or online
You will electronically sign the Funding Plan as part of the request process
You will receive your voucher directly to your email within approximately 10 days
You then redeem your voucher with either Currys or IKEA
Please note; To apply for the Techscheme you must have reached 12 months service prior to applying for the scheme. If you leave Skiddle before the funding plan has ceased, you will be required to settle any outstanding balance from your final net salary payment. If the outstanding balance is greater than your final net salary payment, you will be required to settle the balance separately.
