Please note: Health insurance is considered a taxable benefit in kind by HMRC. It is a benefit that Skiddle pays on the employees’ behalf and is part of your remuneration package. This must be reported to HMRC at the end of each payroll year and HMRC will reduce your tax-free allowance to account for the additional tax due, therefore if you do not wish to be registered with Vitality and receive the private Health Insurance/rewards, please let Keeley know.

Enhanced coverage for mental health
All conditions are now eligible for ‘Talking Therapy’ (such our counselling) through our network – even if you have had the condition before or its excluded from your plan.Your cover for hospital stays has been increased as you can now claim the full benefit multiple times each year (should you need to).
Your Vitality Healthcare renews on 1st June for a 12 month period, therefore for those of you who are using the app, you will notice that the Vitality status that you achieved by 31st May (Bronze, Silver, Gold or Platinum) will be the status you will start on for the new policy year. Once it is renewed you will be able to complete your online health review .The health review which is designed to give you a snapshot of your health. By answering simple health related questions, it will give you an understanding of how healthy you are and once completed it will unlock all your benefits and you can start earning points by being healthy. You will also earn 100 points just by completing your online Health Check plus another 100 points if you are a non-smoker
If you aren’t currently using the Vitality app, it is easy to download and will give you access to the rewards you have unlocked and you will be able to track your points and complete your online health review.

How do I Improve my Vitality status?
When you first are enrolled onto the Vitality scheme, you start at Bronze status but by gaining more points you can quickly increase your status to Silver, Gold and Platinum.
The more points you earn, the higher your Vitality status will be. And the higher your Vitality status, the bigger discounts and rewards you could receive…

Nuffield Gym
If you are considering joining or changing your current gym , Vitality regularly offers a free 7 day gym pass at Nuffield Health.
To give you an idea of cost for gym membership after your free 7 day pass, as a Vitality member, you can get a full membership for approx £35 per month (based on a Nuffield Gym in the Lancashire area) on a rolling contract so no minimum term. The membership gives you full access to the gym, all fitness classes, pool, Sauna etc with no time restrictions.

What is long covid?
COVID-19 can cause symptoms after the virus has gone. Depending on your symptoms, long COVID can be defined as either Ongoing Symptomatic COVID or Post-COVID Syndrome. You can read more about long COVID recovery on the NHS website.
How can Vitality support you with Long COVID?
Wherever you are in your rehabilitation, your Vitality Healthcare plan offers all the following support to help you feel yourself again:
Face-to-face and virtual Vitality GP appointments. GPs can offer an initial assessment of your symptoms. Where clinically appropriate, you may also require tests from your GP in person, including your blood pressure, heart rate, pulse oximetry and respiratory function. They can also offer advice on how to manage your symptoms.
Consultant referrals. If necessary, after the initial consultation, the Vitality GP can refer you for more tests, like a blood test, x-ray or electrocardiogram (ECG). For organ-specific symptoms, they can also refer you to a respiratory, cardiology or neurology consultant, if it’s clinically appropriate.
Mental wellbeing self-referrals. Your plan covers up to 8 sessions of talking therapy, including cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and counselling. This can help if you feel overwhelmed or need someone to talk to, if you’re suffering from low mood, anxiety, depression, and feelings of social isolation, or if you’re having difficulty sleeping.
Physiotherapy self-referrals. As well as offering you focussed support for muscle and joint issues, your plan gives you access to specialised respiratory physiotherapy (if you have Out-patient Cover on your plan).The Vitality Programme. Trying to be active and eating a healthy diet can help recovery from long COVID. Our wide range of partner benefits – like discounted gym membership, cashback on healthy food and access to a mindfulness app at no cost to you – can make it easier for your journey back to full health. Our activity targets and rewards can make it a little more fulfilling, too.
